9:56 a.m. — State Route 58 and U.S. Route 20, police investigate a complaint that an employee at Wal-Mart cashed a check for a customer at $1,000 more than its face value.

Wednesday, May 7

12:50 p.m. — Lorain Street near Allen Community Hospital, woman being treated for an overdose walks out of hospital. Police assist her in returning.

12:50 p.m. — 100 block of W. College St., theft of meat from Dascomb Hall at Oberlin College.

2:31 p.m. — 100 block of N. Pleasant St., two 12-year-old girls run back to their school to report a man who honked his horn and waved at them, and drove past them again.

2:29 p.m. — State Route 58 and U.S. Route 20, Leslie Johnson, 21, of Wakeman, charged with petty theft at Wal-Mart.

Friday, May 9

12:27 p.m. — 100 block Smith St., Daniel Longwell, 24, of Oberlin, arrested on a warrant.

Saturday, May 10

12:23 p.m. — W. Hamilton and W. Lincoln streets, Triston  Henderson, 22, of Elyria, charged with speeding, fictitious plates and carrying a concealed weapon, a handgun spotted in his car.

Sunday, May 11

3 a.m. — E. College St., Lisa Wright, 40, of Oberlin, cited with allowing juveniles to repeatedly violate the curfew.

5:20 p.m. — Berger Court, boy, 15, taken to the Lorain County Detention Home.

9:23 p.m. — Woodland Street, a 20-year-old Oberlin College student reported being raped by a 23-year-old fellow student on Saturday. The case is expected to be presented to a Lorain County Grand Jury.

9:17 a.m. — 200 N. Pleasant St., a piece of wood was used to break a window at the Boy’s and Girl’s Club and steal video games.

Friday, May 16

1:10 a.m. — Prospect Street, an irate Prospect School parent, Lucas Papania, 28, of Oberlin, is charged with inducing panic and disorderly conduct.

Sunday, May 18

2:48 a.m. — U.S. Route 20 and state Route 18, Alex Kukuca, 19, of Oberlin, charged with theft after allegedly trying to walk out in a pair of Wal-Mart’s boots.

Monday, May 5

8:17 p.m. — 600 block N. Main St., Jeremy P. Lovejoy, 21, of Wellington, charged with operating a vehicle without a license.

Tuesday, May 6

11:29 p.m. — N. Main St. at the railroad tracks, Alan D. Brown, 56, of Wellington, charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated after he fell asleep while waiting for a train.

Wednesday, May 7

6:02 p.m. — 700 block Main St., theft of gas reported and Jacob Park, 27, of Wellington, charged with theft.

Thursday, May 8

8:56 p.m. — 100 block W. Herrick Ave., Terry A. Beachy, 49, of New London, charged with physical control of a motor vehicle after police said he was passed out behind the wheel of a car and tested at above the legal limit for driving.

Friday, May 9

1:24 p.m. — 500 S. Main St., Dominique Rollinson, 24, of Wellington, charged with driving under suspension, no front plates and fictitious plates.

5:29 p.m. — 200 block Kent St., theft of $2,271 of jewelry reported. A police report stated the jewelry was sold to Vegas Jewelers in Amherst for $40 and the company agreed to return it if she brought a police report.

Saturday, May 10

10:58 p.m. — N. Main St., Douglas A. Saunders, 50, of Wellington, charged with driving under suspension.

6 p.m. — Union Street, two 14-year-old Wellington youths spotted skateboarding across lanes of traffic were referred to juvenile court. Police said one boy was nearly struck by a car.

Sunday, May 11

3:48 a.m. — 200 block of E. Herrick Ave., Brandy McDevitt, 26, of Wellington, charged with physical control of a motor vehicle after found asleep behind the wheel of her running car.

12:25 p.m. — 100 block Park Place, 16-year-old boy charged with theft after allegations he stole about $1,000 in cash from the home of his church’s youth leader over a period of several months. The boy admitted taking a marked bill from a bank envelope, according to a police report.

Monday, May 12

10:25 a.m. — 100 block Taylor St., village prosecutor determines that $15,000 of damage reported at a home that was being purchased on land contract is a civil and not a criminal matter.
