ELYRIA — An Elyria sexual predator accused of asking two young girls to expose themselves has been indicted.

Kelly Snodgrass, 38, is charged with two counts each of attempted pandering obscenity involving a minor, attempted illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material and criminal child enticement.

Snodgrass

Snodgrass — who served 12 years in prison for kidnapping and raping a woman at the College of Wooster — is being held in the county jail on a $1 million bond.

Police say Snodgrass pulled up next to a 9-year-old girl in Eastern Heights on May 28 and offered her $20 to pull down her pants.

The girl said no and immediately told a parent about the 3:30 p.m. encounter.

About two hours later, Snodgrass allegedly made the same offer to a 9-year-old girl in the toy department at Wal-Mart.

That girl also said no and ran to a nearby Wal-Mart employee. That girl’s parents didn’t report the incident to police until learning about the first girl.

Police were able to identify Snodgrass from Wal-Mart security cameras after showing the videos to probation officers.

The vehicle Snodgrass allegedly used in the encounter in Eastern Heights was traced to his place of employment.

Snodgrass could be sentenced up to 22 years in prison if convicted of all the charges against him.

You’ve got to be kidding me. I dont care who you are, or where you came from. If I ever found out someone asked my 9 YEAR OLD daughter to pull down her pants for $20, I’d be reporting it pronto. Then I’d hunt the bastard down and kill him. That absolutley disgusts me to read that her parents didnt report the incident until they learned about the first girl.

Okay so her parents think… “shes 9, and could be making the story up”… but is it really worth risking!?! I think NOT. Get your head out of your ass!

Oh and also, had you NOT heard about the first girl… what would it have taken for you to report it? Would it of actually had to happen… then maybe you’d think about reporting? Ridiculous!

Well I am the second little girls Mother and she was visiting her grandparents up there when this happened. The newspaper is not correct on this, when it happened she told a worker at walmart and the police were immediantly notified right then that’s how they knew to look at the video tapes, my daughter described him to atthorities and local probation & parole was contacted to make the id… so don’t automaticly believe everything you read and make assumptions about childrens parents…

Sorry to say CW, we have a few on here that have a bad habit to ASS UME. You know what they say about assuming? They seem to forget these stories are retold to a reporter and at times a reporter whether it be by accident or by intention , leaves a few sentences out. Some on here seem to jump the gun any time it concerns kids. Not everyone is the “perfect” parents these assumers seem to think they are.
