SHEFFIELD LAKE — The Giant Eagle store at Shoreway Shopping Center will close Nov. 1.
Howard Landau, a spokesman for Giant Eagle, said the Sheffield Lake grocery store located on Lake Road was underperforming in an area surrounded by other Giant Eagle stores in Avon Lake and Sheffield Village.
About 60 employees will be affected by the closing; however, those workers will be offered jobs at other Giant Eagle locations, Landau said.
The Giant Eagle store is one of the largest tenants within the 170,000-square-foot shopping center.
Neither the Levin Trust, which owns the property, nor Sheffield Mayor John Piskura could be reached for comment.

This means the folks on the East side of Lorain and Sheffield Lake are screwed again. They might as well start the demolition of the Shoreway Center this week. Just another abandoned craphole in the county.

Yep, I so agree with you John Bear. Instead of worrying about how many cats that someone has they should have been at Giant Eagle Headquarters making a deal that would assure they stayed in Sheffield Lake. So glad I moved to another city.
