Jason D. West, 31, of Avon, died Sat., May 26, 2007. He was born Feb. 10, 1976 in Cleveland, and has currently been living in Cleveland Hts., moving from Avon. He was a 1994 graduate of Avon High School, where he played on the football team. He then graduated from Tiffin University in 1999 with a bachelor’s in Criminal Justice. He graduated from the Cleveland Hts. Police Academy in 2000, and was hired by the Cleveland Hts. Police Dept. were he served on the patrol and motorcycle units. He was recently promoted to Investigator, and was highly respected by all.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Georgine (nee Winner) West of Avon; one sister, Ann (Erik) Rehark of Lorain; Maternal Grandmother, Martha Winner of Avon; Paternal Grandmother, Dorothy West of Vermilion; one niece, Hallie Rehark; and one nephew: Hunter Rehark, both of Lorain; several uncle and Aunts.
He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandfather, Henry Winner; and Paternal Grandfather,  Edward West.
Friends will be received Wed. 2 to 9 P.M. at the Misencik Funeral Home, 36363 Detroit Rd., Avon.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thurs. 11 A.M. at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2640 Stoney Ridge Rd., Avon, with the Rev. C. Thomas Cleaton, pastor, officiating. Interment at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. Memorial contributions may be made to the, Jason D. West Memorial Fund, C/O the School Employees County Credit Union, 340 Griswold Rd., Elyria, OH 44035  (440-324-3400).
