John B. Brooks Jr., 63, of LaGrange, died Saturday at his home, following a sudden illness. He was born December 19, 1943 in Cleveland and was a LaGrange resident for 15 years.
Mr. Brooks worked for Key Corp. in Cleveland for 33 years, retiring in 1999 as senior vice-president of the trust dept. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He and his family currently owned the North 40 Creations Store in Berlin.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Linda (nee Easterday); daughter, Tina Emery of Aurora, CO.; son, Ron Brooks of LaGrange; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; parents, Valarie Slenczka of Parma Hts., and John B. Brooks Sr. of Elyria; and three sisters.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
Friends may call Wednesday 5 to 8 P.M. at the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, Chestnut Ridge Road at State Rt. 57, Elyria. Services will be Thursday at 10 A.M. in the funeral home. The Rev. John P. Seabold, pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Grafton will officiate. Private burial will be at River Road Cemetery, LaGrange.
