The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Shari Lynne Pais

Shari Lynne Pais, 46, of Huron, passed away Monday May 28, 2007 at the Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky after being diagnosed with cancer three weeks ago. She was born on November 1, 1960 in Elyria, and has lived in Berlin Township since 2001, having moved here from Grafton.  She was a 1979 graduate of Midview High School and worked as an orthodontic assistant from 1979 to 1990 at Drs. Eisenberg and Fogel in Elyria.  While growing up she was very active with the Indian Ridge Museum in Elyria, as a tour guide and also participating in the Native American celebrations held at the museum.  She also was a member and current president of the Friends of the Milan-Berlin Libraries, a member of the Berlin Heights Historical Society, and a strong supporter of the Edison Marching Band.  She loved attending her son’s many sporting events.  Besides her family and friends, her greatest loves in life were gardening, tending to her pets, reading and cooking.
She is survived by her husband of almost 17 years John; her daughter Hannah; sons Travis and John; a brother Brad of Indian Head, MD; her mother Barbara (nee Wineka), of Elyria; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Richard Neuman in 1994.
Friends may call on Saturday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the memorial service at 4:00 P.M. at the Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South Street Berlin Heights.  Private burial will take place at Oak Bluff Cemetery in Berlin Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of the Milan-Berlin Libraries, Box 139, Berlin Heights, Ohio 44814, Berlin Heights Historical Society Box 311 Berlin Heights, Ohio 44814, or the Western Reserve Land Conservancy PO Box 174 Oberlin, Oh 44074.
