The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Anne E. Gilkeson (nee Comerford), 67, of Elyria, passed away Friday, June 1, 2007, at Community Heath Partners, Lorain, following a long illness. She was born in Avon and had been a resident of Elyria for most of her life. She was a computer programmer for Ridge Tool in Elyria for over 25 years, retiring in 2005. Mrs. Gilkeson was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Elyria and enjoyed reading, flowers and was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Billy Ray; daughter, Rebecca Anne Lewis of Elyria; son, Joseph William Lewis of Elyria; grandchildren, Jeffrey Hyre, Danielle Gillespie and Brittney Boggs, all of Elyria; brothers James W. (Jean) and William (Regenia) Comerford, both of North Ridgeville; sisters, Cathleen (Glen) Nells of Chardon, Pat (Robert) Skapin of Amherst and Jennifer Comerford of North Ridgeville.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Lewis (1972); sister, Judy Newell (2000) and parents, James and Coletta Comerford.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 P.M. at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville where a prayer service will be held on Monday at 9:30 A,M. followed by a 10:00 A.M. mass at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Rev. Stephen Kaminski, pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
