The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Edwin P. Bolden

Edwin P. Bolden, 73, of Elyria, died Thursday, May 31, 2007 at the Cleveland Clinic, after an illness of several months. He was born February 1, 1934 in Lorain, and lived most of his life in Lorain County. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He served the Elyria Fire Department for 33 years and retired in 1990 as a Lieutenant. He was President of Bolden & Son Painting Co.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Elyria Elks, Korean Veterans, and a lifetime member of both VFW Post 1079 and the United Polish Club.
He enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening, his summer home on Kelleys Island, and being a PaPa to his three grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carole (nee-Belosky); children, Kevin (Judy) Bolden of Elyria, Kim Bolden of Sandusky, and Stephania (Joe) Richards of Dunedin, FL; three grandchildren, Kaila Bolden of Elyria, Riley and Cade Richards of Dunedin, FL; three sisters, Viola Lorenc and Wanda Revercomb, both of Miami, FL, and Jean Fields of Elyria; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Henrietta (nee-Legiel) Bolden.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 P.M. at the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, Chestnut Ridge Road at State Route 57, Elyria. Closing prayers will be Monday 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home, followed by a 11 A.M. Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church, 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Thomas Kowatch, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Grafton with full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the church or the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland, 3601 South Green Road, Suite 100, Cleveland, OH 44122.
