The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Calvin L. Beaver, 78 formerly of North Ridgeville, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2007 in Sewickley, PA after a long illness. Born July 18, 1928 in Hurricane, WV, the son of the late Norris and Elva Beaver Stanolis, he was a foreman in the machine shop at the Eaton Corp. in Cleveland, and drove a school bus for Rhodes Bus Company for ten years. A Catholic by faith, he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Surviving are his loving companion of 14 years, Marion Pavlovic; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Keith Beaver, Lorain; Ken and Vicki Beaver, Grafton; and Kim Beaver, Strasburg; two daughters and a son-in-law, Bonnie and Tim Colson, Westlake, and Connie Bryant, Ft. Wayne, IN; a step-son Roger Fulton, Tionesta, PA; nineteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Amalee Soteriades, Columbus, and his mother-in-law, Hilde Roksandich.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepfather, Lewis Stanolis; his wife Lois Safran Beaver in 1983; an infant son Kevin Bruce Beaver; and a sister Norene Beaver in 1969.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Fields United Methodist Church, 34077 Lorain Rd., North Ridgeville, at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Neriah Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Fields Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 43099 N. Ridge Rd., Elyria, OH 44035.
