The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Roger L. Garton, 53, of Wakeman, died suddenly at his home Sunday, June 10, 2007. He was born on April 28, 1954 in New London, and has lived in the area his whole life. He was a 1973 graduate of Western Reserve High School and has worked at Certainteed in Milan for 33 years. He enjoyed gardening, working on cars and traveling to Amish country.
He is survived by his daughter, Samantha (Dale) Wilson, of Wakeman; a sister, Jean (Tom) Motolik, Hartland Twp; two grandchildren, Marissa Jackson and Dalion Wilson; his companion, Linda Evans; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Roger L. Garton Jr.; and parents, Lester and Wilda (Flesher) Garton.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 1 to 3 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman, where services will be held Thursday at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Hartland Cemetery on Derussey Road.
