James L. Austin

James L. Austin, 74, of Lorain, died Thursday, June 14, 2007 at his residence in Lorain following a lengthy illness. He was born on September 28, 1932 in Lorain and was a life-long resident.
Mr. Austin graduated from St. Mary’s School in Lorain in 1951 and was the class president that year. He was a member of the Knights of St. Johns and a past member of the PLAV.
He retired from American Crucible where he worked as a machinist. Mr. Austin proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955.
He enjoyed reading and watching old movies.
Survivors include 13 nieces and nephews, and numerous greatnieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Mary (nee Fisher) Austin; brothers, George Austin, Edward Austin, Richard Austin, and Robert Austin at infancy; sisters, Clair Burger, Mary Krasienko and Frances Henry.
A Memorial Mass will held Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 10 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 309 7th Street, Lorain. Rev. Daniel O. Divis, pastor, will officiate. Burial was private at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain. Sympathy may be expressed through contributions to St. Mary Catholic Church. Arrangements by Wyers Funeral Chapel of Sheffield Twp.
