The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Rita S. (nee Siegelman) Weingarten

Rita S. (nee Siegelman) Weingarten, 84 of Aventure, FL, formerly of Lorain, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at the Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami Fl. Mrs. Weingarten was born in Cleveland on August 6, 1922. She had attended the University of Illinois. She was a homemaker. She worked in the U.S. Naval Department during W.W. II. She volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain for 25 years. She also did volunteer work for the Hollywood Hospital for several years. She was very active in the Agudath B’nai Israel Synagogue, Lorain.
Mrs. Weingarten is survived by her husband, Leo L. Weingarten; son, Richard Weingarten of New Haven, CT; and daughter, Sandra Weingarten of Bryn Mawr, PA.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Sabrina (nee Borden) Siegelman.
Funeral services will be Sunday, June 24, 2007, at 12 P.M. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
Burial will be in the  Salem Cemetery, Lorain.
