Howard F. Colgan, 83, of Elyria, died June 22, 2007 at The Northridge Health Center, North Ridgeville. He was born May 12, 1924 in Collingswood, New Jersey. He graduated from Collingswood High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Baldwin Wallace College.
He served in World War II with the Army Air Corps., 448th Bombardment Group stationed in England.
He was employed for 34 years by Dresser Industries as a Regional Industrial Sales Gauge Manager, retiring in 1990.
He is a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Elyria.
He was an enthusiastic reader and historian, he enjoyed classical music, gardening and was an Ohio State University and Cleveland Browns fan.
Howard is survived by his wife of 61 years, June (nee Ross); daughter, Marty Mullins of Pinson, AL; sons, Jack Colgan of Elyria, and Robert Colgan of Columbus; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas in 2006; and a brother, Charles in 1999.
Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 P.M. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A Memorial Service will be Sunday 1 P.M. at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 300 Third Street, Elyria.
