The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Cathleen V. Moyers (nee Moore), 72, of Wellington, passed away Friday, June 22, 2007 at her residence. She was born in Gilmer County, WV. She moved to Lorain County in 1951 and had resided in Wellington since 1960.
She attended Glenville State Teachers College and received her bachelors degree in education from Akron University. She then received her master’s degree in administration, also from Akron University.
Mrs. Moyers was employed by the Lorain County Board of Mental Retardation and was a teacher at Murray Ridge School in Elyria for 33 years, retiring in 1997. She enjoyed her job very much.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Wellington. She was also a member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed playing games, walking and doing acts of kindness for others.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, William; two sons, William B. Moyers (Sue) of Amherst and Timothy L. Moyers of Wellington; two granddaughters, Lisa Hawk of Oberlin and Kimberly Moyers of Amherst; and one sister, Gwendolyn Postalwait of Mineral Wells, WV.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Worthy and Oleva (nee Miller) Moore; two brothers, Robert Moore and Roland Moore; and four sisters, Helen White, Frankie Parks, Juanita White and Geraldine Moore.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 P.M. Sunday and from 10 to 11 A.M. Monday at First Baptist Church, 125 Grand Avenue, Wellington. The funeral service will be 11 A.M. Monday at the Church with Pastor Tom Alexander offici-ating. Burial will be at Green-wood Cemetery in Wellington.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church of Wellington. Liston Funeral Home, North Ridgeville, is handling the arrangements.
