The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Doris Elaine Brooks, 86, passed away June 25, 2007, after a brief illness. She was a volunteer at Southwest General Hospital for more than 30 years.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by son, Chuck (Sandy) Brooks; daughter, Janis (Ed) Sherwood; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Roberta (John, deceased), Finegan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by beloved husband, Charles L.; a grandson, Torrey Brooks; and parents George and Jean Schreck.
Visitation will be Thursday (tomorrow), June 28, 2007, from 6 to 9 P.M. in the Chapel of Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, where the funeral will be conducted Friday, June 29, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. Arrangements by Dostal Funeral Services. dostalfuneralservices.com
