The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Richard E. Murray, 61, of Elyria, passed away Tuesday evening, June 26, 2007 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born November 25, 1945 in Hollywood, CA and has resided in Elyria for many years. Richard served as the Metal Fabricating Plant Manager for A-1 Welding and Fabricating, in Lorain, with 30 years of service. He was an avid NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Kathie J. Murray(nee Soukenik); a son, Rick Murray of TX; and a daughter, Stephanie Dinan of TX; and one grandson, Ricky Murray.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Murray and his parents, Frank and Frances (nee Dyer) Murray.
