George M. Gaul

George M. Gaul, 67, of Sheffield Lake, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2007, at St. John West Shore Hospital, Westlake, following a sudden illness. He was born November 20, 1939 in Clymer, PA, and lived in Sheffield Lake the past 35 years. George was a graduate of Clymer High School in Clymer, PA, and served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1959. He then attended and graduated from I.U.P. (Indiana University of Pennsylvania) with a degree in engineering. He was employed as a manufacturing engineer for Lear-Romec and it’s Crane Division in Elyria, retiring three years ago. George was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Lorain. He enjoyed golfing, the outdoors, friends and family, especially being his grandson’s “Papa.”
Mr. Gaul is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sherry L. (nee Buriok); a son, David (Catherine) of Lorain; daughter, Shelly Aslaksen (Joshua) of Sheffield Village; grandson, Liam; two sisters, Patsy Calhoun (Richard) of Buffalo, NY and Bonnie Kobza (Rich) of Cape Coral, FL;  two brothers, Jerry Gaul (Kathy) of Clymer, PA, and Jim Gaul (Jonetta) of Alverda, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Agnes (nee Masnicka) Gaul; and brother, Joseph Gaul.
Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave. Lorain, Monday, July 2 at 10 A.M. Fr. Joe West will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Avon, where V.F.W. Post 9871 of North Ridgeville will conduct military honors.
