The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Cartha Marguerite Crow (nee Hysell), 92 of Elyria, died peacefully Monday, July 2, 2007, at Life Care Center of Elyria. She was born January 26, 1915, in Middleport. She had resided in Elyria and wintered in St. Petersburg, FL for the past 15 years. She previously lived in Parma for many years. Mrs. Crow retired from Sears SRC in Middleburg Heights in 1975. She enjoyed playing tennis well into her 80’s, crossword puzzles and reading.
Surviving are two sons, Charles (Mary) Crow of St. Petersburg, FL, Paul (Sandie) Crow of Grafton; four grandchildren, Robert, Susan & Stephen Crow and Debbie Whalen; 6 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Daniel, Zachary & Joshua Crow, Megan & Allison Whalen; one nephew, Jack Hysell.
She was preceded in death by husband Wick H. Crow; brother Floyd Hysell; sister Marie Mertens; and her parents Herbert and Anna Hysell.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 P.M. Friday, July 6, at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, North Ridgeville. A Memorial Service will be held in St. Petersburg, FL, at a later date.
