Ex-Playboy centerfold arrested in Oberlin

OBERLIN — Jennifer Lyn Jackson, 38, is once again in the spotlight.
But instead of the skimpy clothes she wore 18 years ago — when she was Playboy magazine’s Miss April 1989 — the Westlake woman donned a pair of handcuffs as she stood before a judge Tuesday in Oberlin Municipal Court.
Jackson faces charges of petty theft, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, open container in a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
She pleaded not guilty Tuesday to all the charges at her arraignment and was released on a personal bond. Her next court date is July 11.
Jackson was arrested Saturday evening after a clerk at the Murphy USA gas station on U.S. Route 20 told police she came into the store with a man reeking of alcohol. She was acting drunk and allegedly stole cigarettes and cigars, the report said.
Based on that information, an officer was sent to investigate and soon had Jackson pulled over near state Route 58 and U.S. Route 20, the report said.
Jackson was asked to exit the car. Stumbling on the way out, she agreed to be searched and voluntarily let the officer look through the car she was driving. She failed several field sobriety tests, at one point almost falling into oncoming traffic when asked to perform the one-leg-stand test, according to the report.
Inside the 1996 Pontiac Grand Am Jackson was driving, police found an open
12-ounce bottle of beer on the front passenger seat and marijuana in a cup in the front cup holder. There was more marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Jackson’s purse along with six packs of cigarettes, nine cigars and a cigarette rolling machine, the report said.
Jackson was taken to the Oberlin Police Department and booked on several charges. A friend later came to give Jackson a ride home.
