The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Richard "Dick" Fredrick Logue, 86, of Amherst Township, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at Community Health Partners in Lorain, following a brief illness. He was born December 16, 1920 in Elyria. He was a lifetime resident of Elyria and Amherst Township and graduated from Amherst High School in the class of 1938. Dick served in the United States Navy stateside during World War II. He was employed as a foreman at General Industries in Elyria for 43 years before retiring in 1983. Dick was a member of St. Ladislaus Church in Lorain, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society. He was also Man of Year in 1993. Dick enjoyed golf, woodworking and bowling where he and Andy Spanos were State Doubles Champions in 1956.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Anna Mary Logue (nee Chohany); son, Richard F. Logue II, of Grafton; daughter Kathleen Berkel of Amherst Township; step-son, Frank Szabo of Freeland, MI; step-daughter, Jeanette Lodge of Saginaw, MI; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert Hasley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Logue in 1927, and Mabel Logue (nee Bonnett), in 1983; stepfather, William Hasley in 1969.
Friends may call Friday, July 6, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. Closing prayers will be held Saturday, July 7, 2007 at 9:15 A.M. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 A.M. at St. Ladislaus Church, 1412 E. 29th Street, Lorain. The Rev. Fr. James Schmitz, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Garden, Avon, with the Grafton Veterans Military Honor Guard performing honors.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Ladislaus Church, 1412 E. 29th. Street, Lorain, OH 44055.
