The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Alma Osmer Buckley, 92, of Oberlin since 1935, died Monday, July 2, 2007 at Allen Memorial Hospital. Born in Lemoyne, October 5, 1914.
She attended Woodville High School where she was an avid basketball player. She also enjoyed baseball, bowling and fishing.
Alma worked for the Oberlin College Library until retiring in 1974. She spent winters in St. James City, FL, where she was an active auxiliary member of the VFW and the American Legion.
She is survived by daughters, Judy (Osmer) Yakunovich of Oberlin and Vicky (Osmer) Overstreet of St. James, FL; a son, Michael V.C. Osmer of St. James City, FL; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Gilbert Osmer and Wilson Buckley; and her parents, Emma and Frederick Van Camp; also a grandson, Paulie Yakunovich.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
