The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Mary Myor

Mary Myor, 85, of Monongahela (Riverhill), died July  5, 2007 in the Mon Valley Care Center, Monongahela. She was born on November 18, 1921, in Mather,  a daughter of the late Theodore and Anna Hornyak Skirpan. Mrs. Myor was employed at the former Abel’s Clothing Store and the Friendlee Bakery, a member of Transfiguration Church, and the Slovak American Citizens Club,  all of Monongahela.  In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting. bowling with the Monongahela women’s league, tending to her flower garden, traveling extensively throughout the United States and Europe and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by daughter, Patricia A. Vigliotti and husband, Joseph of Monongahela; son Joseph A. Myor and wife Susan of Sheffield Village; six grandchildren Matthew, Michael, Mark and Michelle Vigliotti, Jennifer and Caitlin Myor; sister, Helen Flowers of  South Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Myor, who died on February 28, 1988; four brothers, Michael, Peter, Joseph and Paul Skirpan; and a sister Anna Nicholas.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 P.M. in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 W. Main Street, Monongahela. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 10 A.M. in Transfiguration Church with the Rev. George Chortos, pastor as celebrant.  Committal services and interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Blessing House, 5440 Grove Ave., Lorain, OH 44055.
