The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Margaret Jo Ann Bisgrove

Margaret Jo Ann Bisgrove  (nee Walsh), 77, of Lorain, died Sunday, July 8, 2007, in Cleveland Clinic Hospital, Cleveland, following brief illness. She was born September 26, 1929, in Highland Park MI. She was 12 when she and her family moved to Cincinnati. She then moved to Detroit, Michigan. Mrs. Bisgrove relocated to Elyria in 1946, then to  Lorain in 1951. She graduated from Elyria High School in 1947. She attended Elyria Business College. She was employed from Lorain City School System as a cafeteria worker at Southview and Lorain High Schools. Mrs. Bisgrove was an active member of Saint John the Baptist Church. She was a Lector for weekend masses. She was also a member of the church’ Altar and Rosary Society and The Our Lady of Guadalupe Society.
Among the survivors are her sons, Reverend Charles William Bisgrove S. C. J. of Eluru, India, Michael Logan Bisgrove of Vermilion, Thomas Francis and Michael David Bisgrove both of Elyria and Lonzo Alan Bisgrove of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Margaret Ann "Peggy" Kernohan of Lorain; sisters, Mary Jane Corby of Livonia, MI, Barbara E. Deidrick and Dolores Ann Webber, both of Elyria; two granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Charles W. Bisgrove in October of 1983; parents, Charles F. and Edna M. (nee Young) Walsh.
Friends may call Wednesday, July 11, 2007, from 6 to 9 P.M. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. The Rosary will be prayed Wednesday at 6:30 P.M. in the funeral home. Funeral Services will be Thursday, July 12, 2007, with closing prayers at 9:30 A.M. followed by Mass of the Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Homewood Drive and Grove Avenue (State Route 57) in Lorain. Reverends Thomas Smith, pastor, and Charles W. Bisgrove, S. C. J. will concelebrate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Saint Peter School Scholarship Fund, 3601 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44053.
