The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Margaret J. O’Neal, 67 , of Vermilion, died Saturday, July 7, 2007 at her daughter’s home, following a lengthy illness. She was born May 13, 1940 in Kingwood, WV and has lived in
Vermilion since 1970, moving from LaGrange.
She worked for the Ford Motor Company in Lorain as an assembler from 1973 until retiring in 1985.
She attended the Church of Christ in Amherst and enjoyed crocheting, crafts, gardening and lawn care projects.
She is survived by her daughters, Marjorie March of Vermilion, Linda Barnes of Port Huron, MI, Peg O’Neal of Norwalk, Nancy Lloyd of Florence, AL and Elizabeth Krause of Vermilion; sons, Johnny O’Neal, Jr. of Amherst, Chuck Phillips of FL and Tim O’Neal of Vermilion; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Russell McGinnis of MI and Gary McGinnis of FL; sister, Shirley Klingman of Greenwich.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John W. O’Neal; parents, Everett and Lucille (nee Smith) McGinnis; grandson, Eric O’Neal; sisters, Janet Newton and Betty Smith.
Friends may call on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St., Vermilion, where services will be on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 10 A.M.
