The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Violet Vivian Kovalsky (nee Vance), 66, of Westlake, died July 8, 2007, at her home. Proprietor for 37 years of Dairy Whip in Cleveland.
Beloved wife of Joseph; devoted daughter of Carmella Vance; dear mother of Debbie Jerrome (Steve), Sheryl Donaldson (Rick), Kathy Kovalsky (Tim Stack) and Michael (Amy); loving grandmother of Jennifer King (Regan), Katie Jerrome, Mandy and Josh Krajnak, Jason and Justin Donaldson, and Aidan and Nate Kovalsky; loving great-grandmother of McKenzie and Regan King; dear sister of Frank Vance, Georgia Singleton, Jim Vance, Barb Knapik, and Bob Vance; cherished aunt and great-aunt of many.
