Raymond Walter Donaldson, 88, of Wellington, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria. He was born April 6, 1919, in Cleveland, son of the late Ellis and Oceana K. (Hitchcox) Donaldson. He attended schools in Cleveland and Bainbridge. Mr. Donaldson had lived in Wellington for the past 14 years. He was a carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Local 509 Cleveland. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and trained his hunting dogs. Mr. Donaldson built muzzle loader rifles. He also repaired violins and wind instruments.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Vivian (Ward) Donaldson; his extended family, Scott and Aubrey Ward of Wellington and Eugene Forbush of Grafton; brother, James R. Donaldson of Melbourne, FL; half sisters, Lareda Hess and Linda Wilderman, both of Middlefield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia (Smith) Donaldson; and his extended family member, Neal Ward.
Memorial Services will be held at 4 P.M. Saturday, July 14, 2007, at the Pittsfield Community Church, 17026 St.Rt. 58, Wellington, with Pastor Kenneth Gerhardt officiating.
