Esther R. Krok

Esther R. Krok (nee Schmidkons), 83, of Elyria, died Thursday, July 12, 2007 at EMH Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness. She was born in Elyria, November 28, 1923, and had been a lifelong resident of Lorain County.
Mrs. Krok was a graduate of Elyria High School and the Elyria Business College. She was employed as a bookkeeper for B.F.I. Waste System in Elyria for over 18 years retiring in 1986.
She had attended Zion United Methodist Church in Elyria, and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, going to garage sales, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include daughters, Stephanie Hickey of Pataskala, Dottie Meissner of Columbia Station; a son, Richard (Judy) Krok of Blissfield, MI; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, John Schmidkons of Vermilion; and a sister, Phyllis Brotherton of Huron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo J. Krok (1980); a son, Walter Krok (1986); a daughter, Jeanne Krok (1954); her parents, Walter and Lauretta Krugman Schmidkons; a brother, Myron "Bud" Schmidkons; and sisters, Ruth Hanlon and Virginia M. Jones.
Family will receive friends at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst, Sunday 2 to 5 P.M. The funeral service will be Monday 12 Noon at the funeral home with Rev. N. James Greenawalt officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
