Michael F. Krupar, 88, of Elyria, died Friday, July 13, 2007 at his home following a brief illness. He was born February 6, 1919 in Dunlo, PA and had been an Elyria resident for most of his life.
Mr. Krupar was a WW II U.S. Navy veteran.
He was a tool and die maker for the former General Motors Fisher Guide Plant in Elyria for over 32 years.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria, of the Elyria Elks # 465, and was director and secretary for the Elyria Bowling Association for over 10 years.
Mr. Krupar enjoyed bowling where he once bowled a 300 game, and enjoyed golfing where he once had a hole in one. He like playing softball and working with computers.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ann, (nee-Janosik); a daughter, Marylea Reed of Dayton; a son, Michael A. Krupar of Wellington; six grandchildren, Danielle, Michael Krupar, Joseph and Joshua Reed, Heather McKim and Aubrey Butler; one great-grandson, Camren Butler; sisters, Helen Gerlak of Cleveland, Veronica Irelan of Bellevue; brothers, Andy of Nova, Richard of Pittsfield, Martin of Elyria, Steve of Pittsfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary (nee-Guba) Krupar; a brother, John Krupar; a step-sister, Mary Burnett; and step-brothers, Steve Guba and Andy Guba.
Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, Chestnut Ridge Rd. at State Route 57, Elyria.
Services will be Tuesday at 9 A.M. in the funeral home, followed by Mass at 9:30 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Thomas Kowatch, Pastor will officiate. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
