The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Edward C. Dye

Edward C. Dye, 75, of Eaton Township, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at Parma Community Hospital, following a short illness. He was born August 26, 1931, in Hillsdale County, MI and was a resident of Eaton Twp. for over 50 years. Mr. Dye was employed as a truck driver for Otis Material and Handling in Cleveland for 25 years. He was a member of the Eagles and enjoyed scrapping, collecting aluminum cans, doing carpentry work, dressing up as Santa Claus during the holidays and visiting with people at Jenny’s in North Eaton. Survivors include his daughters, Joanne Bolding and Ione Boggs of Eaton Twp., Pam Medina of Elyria; step-daughters, Virginia Dye of Eaton Twp. and Beverly Reed of Sandusky; sons, Edward Jr. and Philip Dye of Eaton Twp.; step-sons, David Bunnell of Bentleyville, PA, and Michael Bunnell of Eaton Twp.; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Ethel Frances of Sandusky and Belva of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona V. (nee Loar) Dye; parents, William and Dora (nee Daniels) Dye; and brothers, Jay Dye and F.A. Dye.
Friends may call today, Thursday, July 19, 2007, from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, Chestnut Ridge Road at State Route 57, Elyria.
Services will be Friday, July 20, 2007, at 11 A.M. in the funeral home. Rev. Stephen Carter, Pastor of North Eaton Baptist Church will officiate.
Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
