The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

A Memorial Service for Lorna I. Sweet, (nee Smith), will be Saturday, July 21, 2007, at 11 A.M. at Fields United Methodist Church, 34077 Lorain Rd., North Ridgeville. The Rev. Neriah Edwards, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Fields Cemetery, North Ridgeville. Mrs. Sweet, 93, of North Ridgeville, died Saturday, July 14, 2007, at the North Ridge Health Center following a long illness. Memorial contributions can be made to the Organ Fund at Fields United Methodist Church 34077 Lorain Rd. North Ridgeville, OH 44039. Arrangement are under the direction of the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road, Elyria.
