The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Richard F. Runser M.D.

Richard F. Runser M.D., 72, of LaGrange, formerly of Elyria, died Wednesday, July 18th, 2007 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  He was born December 28, 1934 in Elyria, to the late Clarence F. and Wilhemia (nee Maier) Runser.
Dr. Runser had been a physician for 35 years, and was associated with the Elyria Medical Group, and Elyria Memorial Hospital.  He had completed medical residency at Akron General Hospital and Ohio State Medical School. Dr. Runser attended Westlake High School, Ohio Wesleyan University, Ohio State University, and had attained the rank of Captain serving (2) years in the U.S. Army at Ft. Gordon in Augusta, GA.
He is survived by his wife of (48) years, Barbara J. (nee Baldwin); four sons, Dr. Gregory (wife, Carol) of Hilliard, Mark (wife, Kelly) of Elyria, Rich (wife, Kristi) of Elyria, Randy (wife, Amy) of North Ridgeville; and six grandchildren, Travis, Chelsey, Jillian, Matthew, Payton and Ryan.
Friends may call 1 to 5 P.M. Sunday, July 22, 2007 at the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. at State Rt. 57, Elyria.
Funeral Services are 10 A.M. Monday, July 23 2007 at The First United Methodist Church, 312 3rd St. Elyria. (Please meet at church) Rev. Roger Talbot, Pastor will officiate.
Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.

  1. Dr. Runser was a very fine man and physician, who also happened to be my mother, father, and aunt’s internist for many years. My sincere regrets to his family for their and everyone’s loss. James Donahue.
