Crete M. Hoffman

Crete M. Hoffman (nee Young), 84, life resident of Amherst, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at New Life Hospice Residential Center of St. Joseph following a brief illness. She was born in Amherst and was a 1940 graduate of Central School, Amherst.
A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst, she enjoyed line dancing and playing bingo.
Survivors include five nieces, Deborah Bibb of Huron, Judy Broud of Wakeman, Cheryl Yagielo of Amherst, Suzanne (Larry) Dolesch of Medina, Nancy (Fred) Back of Grandville; five nephews, James (Sandra) Young of Amherst, John (Brenda) Young of Amherst, Robert Young of South Amherst, Thomas Young of South Amherst, David Young of Amherst; 13 great-nieces; 11 great-nephews, and many great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Hoffman; her parents, Clayton and Margaret McDermott Young; and brothers, Adelbert and Francis Young.
Family will receive friends Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst, where Mass will follow at 10 A.M. Rev. James F. Mazanec, associate pastor, will officiate. Private family interment. Cremation provided by Cromco Services, Elyria with funeral arrangements by Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, Amherst.
