Goldie Allen, 88, of Grafton, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007, at her home, after a long illness. She was born Sunday, April 6, 1919 in Flat Gap KY, living in Grafton for 25 years. Mrs. Allen was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her family home, gardening of flowers, and being a mother.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Elliott of Woodstock, GA. and Linda Williams of Grafton; two sons, Joe Allen of Cleveland and Timothy Allen of Grafton; nine grand children; and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester J.; one son, Darrel Allen; her parents, Daniel Sanford and Cora Belle Ross; eight brothers; and two sisters.
Friends may call at the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St. Grafton, Monday from 6 to 8 P.M. with graveside services Wednesday, in South Webster Cemetery in Bloom Twp. OH at 2:30 P.M. Rev. James Walcott, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, will have prayers Monday evening in the funeral home. The family suggest memorials be made to Hospice of Ohio, 2500 East 22nd St., Cleveland, Ohio 44115.
