William J. Dooley, 78, of Mount Vernon, died July 29, 2007 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home. He was born July 28, 1929 in Mount Vernon to William F. and Elizabeth (Feeney) Dooley.
He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. He was a Charter member of Council 2970, Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree. He was a member and past Exalted Ruler of the BPO Elks 140. He was an Army Veteran and was a member of the AMVETS and the Loyal Order of Moose. Bill had been Plant Manager of General Industries in Elyria for 30 years.
He is survived by a number of relatives and many friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Florence B. Dooley in 1998; and a sister Mary Dooley in 1998.
Friends may call at the North-Dilley Funeral Home from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday. There will be a Rosary Service at 8 P.M., followed by a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Service and a BPO Elks Service. The Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, 10:30 AM, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church with Rev. Father Mark Hammond officiating.
