The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

William F. Spencer, 73, of Wellington, died Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at his residence, following a short illness. He was born in Lewis County, KY, November 14, 1933 and moved to the Lorain County area in 1951. For 18 years he was a journeyman core maker at Kasper Foundry, Elyria, and then retired from the Lorain Ford Assembly Plant after many years of employment. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Wellington, and the American Legion, Wellington. In retirement he enjoyed hunting and travelling, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Ruth (nee Jones); three sons, Tom (Nanette) of Brighton Township; Gary (Leslie) of Elyria Township; David (Anne) of New London; two daughters, Sandy (Carl) Fahler of Clarksfield Township and Patty (Jim) Kimmel of Wellington; ten grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and a sister, Lula (Bruce) Baldwin of South Shore, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick T. and Maude Burton Spencer; and a brother, Jesse Spencer.
Family will receive friends at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst, Friday 6 to 9 P.M. The funeral service will be 11 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
