Erik David Greene, 36 of Crested Butte, CO died Thursday, July 26, 2007 at his home. He was born November 27, 1970 in Lorain, grew up in Vermilion and has lived in Colorado the past 14 years. He was a self employed carpenter and enjoyed skiing, mountain and glacier climbing, water sports, mountain biking, and rock climbing. He had climbed Mt. Denali in Alaska.
Survivors include his son, Kai Erik Greene, Crested Butte; mother and stepfather, Gloria and Allen Luther of Grafton; father James Greene of Vermilion; brother, Matt Greene of Lake Isabella, CA; step-brothers, Paul Brothers, Cincinnati and Lee Brothers, Perrysburg; sister, Christina Marie Sarraino, Avon Lake; stepsister, Cathy Riemier, Paso Robles, CA and Heather Kishman, Bakersfield, CA; maternal grandfather, Melvin C. Davis, Grafton; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Geraldine and Richard Greene and his maternal grandmother, Vera Danner.
Friends may call Sunday, August 5, 2007 from 5 P.M. until the time of a Memorial Service at 8 P.M. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. The Reverend Robert Greene, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, Wabash, IN., will officiate.
