Harry P. Chapman, 82, of French Lick, IN, formerly of Elyria, died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at his home. Born August 15, 1924, in Elyria, he was the son of the late Guy Rexford and Virginia Dietrich Chapman.
He had been director of catering for the French Lick Sheraton Hotel. He was an avid artist, chef, conversationalist, gardner and golfer.
He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, and served on the Hornet and the Princeton. He was a member of the French Lick Amercian Legion Post 76.
Survivors include two sons, Craig Chapman of Beverly Hills, CA, and Jeffrey Chapman and his wife, Nancy of Houston, TX; one grandson, Brooks Chapman; three granddaughters, Cole Chapman, Abby Chapman and Tate Chapman; and two cousins, Donald Ciliax of Huntsville, AL, and Gordon Ciliax of Brighton, MI.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Chapman.
Services were conducted Tuesday at McAdams Mortuary in Paoli, IN. Bro. Harvey McAdams officiated.
