James E. Martin Sr., 64, of North Ridgeville, died Wednesday August 1, 2007 at EMH Regional Medical Center following a long illness. He was born December 17, 1942, in Buffalo, NY. He had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 31 years, and had also resided in Vermilion as well.
Mr. Martin worked as an Assembly Line Worker for the Lorain Ford Plant, retiring in 1999 following 25 years of service. He was a member of the Eagles FOE #431, Elyria and the UAW Local 425. He was an avid camper, boater, and fisherman, and loved traveling around the country with his brother, especially those mustard runs.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Margaret "Peggy" Joy (nee Harrell); daughters, Theresa Sestokas (Richard) of Akron, Carolyn Dotson (Kenneth) of Eaton Township; and Tina Martin of Elyria; sons, James Jr. (Lauretta) Martin of Elyria, Edward Martin of Lorain, and Jerry Sr. (Johnna) Martin of Westlake; eight grandchildildren, Keri, Caley, Deric, Ashley, Renee, Seth, Jerry Jr., and Meadow; brother, Dr. Thomas Martin; and sister, Arlene Davey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Carolyn (nee Fix); and grandaughter, Samantha Dotson in 2001.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Interment will be private at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
