David Taylor, Sr., 90, of Lorain, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2007 at Golden Acres Nursing Home, following a brief illness. Mr. Taylor was born August 18, 1916 in Alabama, moving to Lorain shortly after graduating from Industrial High School in Birmingham. David was employed at Ohio Laborer Construction as a construction worker for over 40 years. He was one of many influential leaders at Mr. Zion Baptist Church in Lorain. He remained active until the time of his death. Having received several awards for his leadership, generous contributions and strong organizational developments, he helped many to lead a better life in the Mt. Zion community as well as throughout Lorain County.
Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Janie Taylor; siblings, Cornelius, Joseph, Robert, Mattie, and Estelle; sons, Raymond and David Jr.
He is survived by two sons, Melvin of Seattle, WA and Aaron of AL; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 10, 2007 at 10 A.M. until the time of Service at 12 Noon at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 1516 East 30th Street, Lorain.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Garden Cemetery in Avon. Arrangements by Brown-Robinson Funeral Home.
