Flooded ?

More than 3 inches of water poured down on Lorain County this morning flooding roadways and houses and in some cases causing crashes, making the morning commute a particularly tricky one.

Several motorists escaped from their cars as flood water rose, but left their vehicles drifting in the water.

The northern portion of the county was especially hard hit by the storms.

Lorain shut down the East 21st Street bridge underpass, along with several roadways due to flooding.

A flash flood warning was replaced with a flood warning for all of Lorain County lasting until 5:15 p.m.

The weather knocked out phone lines at The Chronicle and they will likely be down for the next few days. This means the paper also can’t receive faxes, so all written communication should be sent via email.

We want to hear some of your stories: where you were, what you saw and your thoughts as the rain came.
