Elizabeth Kavanagh-Burne

Elizabeth Kavanagh-Byrne (nee Dixon), 68, of Avon Lake, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at St. John West Shore Hospital following complications of a stroke. Ms. Kavanagh-Byrne was born December 16, 1939 in Cleveland and had lived on the West side prior to moving to Avon Lake where she lived the past 30 years. Ms. Kavanagh-Byrne was a 1956 graduate of John Marshall High School, Cleveland.  She retired from The Teamsters Local 436, where she worked for Independence Excavating, Great Lakes Construction and others. She was an equestrian enthusiast, owning and riding horses most of her adult life.  She was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, helping many individuals and also a member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
Ms. Kavanagh-Byrne is survived by two sons, Brock Kavanagh of Avon and Blake Kavanagh of Roseville, MI;  Other survivors include 4 grandchildren, Leah, William, Jacob and Elizabeth, as well as a sister, June Heinrich of Avon Lake.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Harriett Dixon; brother, Bob Dixon; and sisters, Elaine Murnan and Kay Csalos-Soeder.
A Memorial Service will be Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon, at 3:30 P.M. Barbara Habecker, Celebrant, Busch Funeral Homes will officiate.  Cremation is by the Busch Crematory.
