Eunice F. Sifling

Eunice F. Sifling (nee Forbes), 104, passed away Monday morning, August 13, 2007 at Mainstreet Care Center in Avon Lake, following a short illness. She was born April 21, 1903, in Cleveland, and moved to Lorain as a child. She was a survivor of the 1924 tornado in Lorain. She graduated from St. Mary Academy in Lorain, the Class of 1921, and has resided in Avon Lake for the past 32 years.
Eunice retired in 1968 as a bank teller for Central Bank in Lorain. She was the first drive-in teller in Lorain County. She enjoyed flower gardening and traveling. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church in Avon Lake and was a member of the Ladies Guild.
She is survived by three daughters; Joan (husband, William) Hennig of Vacaville, CA; Doris Sifling of Westlake, and Jean (Ron) Novotny of Avon Lake; 13 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son, Robert Sifling; former husband, Dr. Harold A. Sifling (1986); and parents, Thomas and Margaret Forbes (nee Gerhart).
Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 3200 Detroit Road, Avon, from 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, August 15, 2007. Prayer Services will be held at the Funeral Home Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 9:30 A.M., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 410 Lear Road, Avon Lake at 10 A.M. Rev.
