Art, music on tap at Sandstone Village Fair

AMHERST — The Amherst Historical Society invites the public to the Sandstone Village Fair 2 to 5 p.m. Aug. 26 on the grounds of the Sandstone Museum Center, 763 Milan Ave.
Mark and Luke Costilow will show their award-winning, hand-carved decoys in St. George Chapel. The Elyria High Fiddlers, directed by Tom Flowers, will provide musical entertainment. Shane Charney will show how to shoe a horse, and children can ride miniature horses.

The Sandstone Settlers will tell their stories of life in Amherst during the early years. The Ohio Volunteer Infantry will set up a Civil War encampment.

All of the buildings will be open for tours, including the Art Gallery at Sandstone Center run by local artist Neal Jenne.
The Ballroom Dance Place will present “Ballroom Dancing Down Through the Ages” at 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. in the Grange/schoolhouse. Refreshments will be served.

Also featured is a flea market, and if you have items you wish to donate, bring them to the Sandstone Village at noon.
Food vendors and crafters are welcome to set up their booths at the fair — no fee charged for space only. For information, call the society at (440) 988-7255.
