Man gets 7 years in I-77 attack that killed 1

CLEVELAND — A Brecksville man was sentenced Tuesday to seven years in prison by a Cuyahoga County judge for causing a fatal car crash while trying to run the mother of his child off Interstate 77.
Sean Kay, 20, was convicted last month of aggravated vehicular assault and felonious assault charges in the death of 58-year-old Gerald Durczak in January. A murder charge was dismissed after a judge ruled there wasn’t enough evidence to convict Kay.
Kay lost control of his Ford Expedition after ramming a Plymouth Voyager driven by Amanda Koczwara of North Ridgeville. The impact sent the SUV across the median, where it struck Durczak’s car.
Wendy Clawson, a spokeswoman for Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason, said Kay apologized for his actions in court and said he was ready to face his punishment. He also lost his driving privi
