The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Anna King Harris, 84, of Elyria, died August 10, 2007 at Northridge Health Center, North Ridgeville. She was born January 28, 1923 in Elyria and had been a lifelong resident of the Elyria-North Ridgeville area.
She graduated from Elyria High School in 1941 and also from Bowling Green State University with B.S. degrees in Elementary Education and Library Science.
She was an elementary teacher in Avon and Oberlin and a school librarian in Oberlin and Carrey, retiring as a librarian from the Stryker School System.
Despite losing her left arm in an accident when she was 19 months old, she became an accomplished seamstress and She enjoyed reading and playing bingo and was a member of the Carlisle Grange.
She is survived by grandsons, grandsons, Barry and Douglas Kohler of Elyria; granddaughter, Joanne Bucher of Vermilion; five great-grandchildren; and brother, James (Peggy) King of Elyria. Anna is also survived by special friends, Mary and John Biss of North Ridgeville.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Norma Ann Nelson; and parents, Albert and Winifred (nee Olin) King. She donated her body to Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
