Russell George Spiegelberg of Oberlin, 90, passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 16, 2007. Mr. Spiegelberg was born in Elyria, the son of Louis W. and Odelia (nee Smith) Spiegelberg. Mr. Spiegelberg was a lifetime farmer in Lorain County.

He was a Ham Radio operator who enjoyed hunting and loved his dogs.

For many years, Mr. Spiegelberg served on the Board of Trustees of the Zion United Methodist Church.

At age 20, he lost his arm in a farm machinery accident and through the years was an inspiration to others.

Mr. Spiegelberg was also known for his great sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Irma. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Violet Marie (nee Schroeder); sons, Ronald (Shirley) of Oberlin, Alan (Jane) of Oberlin, and Gary (Marcia) of Nathrop, CO; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second St., Elyria, Sunday, August 19, 2007 from 2 to 5 P.M., where Services will be held Monday, August 20, 2007 at 11 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment at North Murray Ridge Cemetery, Elyria.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be forwarded to the Zion United Methodist Church, 43270 Telegraph Rd., Rt. 113, Elyria, OH 44035.
