The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Edward L. Elliott, 48, of Amherst, died Friday, August 17, 2007 at University Hospital of Cleveland from a brain aneurysm. He was born in Amherst June 12, 1959 and was a life resident.
Mr. Elliott was a 1977 graduate of Marion L. Steele High School and following high school he was employed at the Lorain Assembly Plant of the Ford Motor Company as an assembler. While working there he attended the Cooper School of Art in Cleveland. For 18 years he was a typesetter at Avon Lake Printing, retiring in 2006 due to his illness. He was an artist who enjoyed painting watercolors and creating pencil drawings, and he also enjoyed music and played the guitar. Throughout his life he enjoyed sports and was an avid Cleveland sports fan.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, Edward M. and Patricia Elliott of Norwalk; two sisters, Dawn Elliott of Amherst and Jane Heberling of Henrietta Township; two nieces, Hannah Heberling of Henrietta Township and Amanda Ferris of Amherst; and two nephews, Scott Ferris of Amherst and Daniel Heberling of Henrietta Township.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gwen L. (nee Kilgore, 1981); maternal grandparents, Richard and Lois Kilgore; and paternal grandparents, Clifford and Wilda Elliott.
Family will receive friends at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Ave., Amherst, Monday 4 P.M. until time of service at 8 P.M. Pastor Rich Henry of Amherst Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Following cremation by Cromco Services, Elyria, he will be interred with his mother in Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.
Family suggests memorials may be made to Amherst Public Library, 221 Spring St., Amherst, OH 44001.
