Briefs: Area bowling alleys have league openings


Area lanes have openings for 2007

The 2007 bowling season begins next week for some area leagues, and many still have openings to fill.
Other leagues have organizational meetings scheduled.
At Grafton Bowling Center the following leagues need bowlers:
Sunday Pot Luck Couples, bowl every other week at
2:10 p.m.
Sunday Nite Mixed, every other week, 6 p.m.
Monday Night Men, weekly at 6:30 p.m.
Early Birds, women, every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
Strikers, women, every Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Willowettes, women, every Tuesday at 9:15 p.m.
Morning Ladies, every Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Grafton Classic, every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
Thursday Night Men, weekly at 6:30 p.m.
Party Animals, couples, every Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
Bucks N Does, every other Saturday at 9:15 p.m.
Kings N Queens, every other Saturday at 9:15 p.m.
All Grafton junior leagues also have openings — Wednesday Jrs., 4 p.m.; Saturday Morning Stars
10 a.m.; Sunday Rookies, every other week, noon.

Owner/manager Kevin Minnich is readying the lanes at Strike Out in Wellington and still has some gaps to fill.
There are openings on   mixed couples leagues on Saturdays at 7 p.m. and every other Sunday.
Strike Out is also forming a  Las Vegas League (every bowler gets to go).

At Rainbow Lanes, the Monday Nite Business League needs women and teams for weekly 6:30 competition. Beginners are welcome to join. Call Dona,

Also at Rainbow, the Thursday TNT women’s league has openings for
five-woman teams. Call Amy Wells, 355-5906, or Rainbow Lanes.
At Brunswick Zone, the Classy Ladies league has openings for teams and indiviudals (Mondays, 6:30 p.m.).
The league will have an organizational meeting on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at BZ. Bowling starts Aug. 27. For more info call Laurie, 666-8560.
Also at BZ, the Hardstarters league has openings for couples and two individuals (men). The league bowls every other Saturday at 6:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 8.
The league’s organizational meeting will be held Aug. 25 at 6:30 p.m.
At BZ, the Wednesday A.M. Gutter Clutters (women,
9:15 a.m.) need individuals and teams. Call Marlene,

Westlake football tickets available

Student presale tickets for Westlake’s varsity football game at North Ridgeville on Friday may be purchased at the Westlake High School athletic office between
8 a.m. and 3 p.m., beginning Wednesday.
Cost is $3 per ticket. All tickets at the gate will be $5 per ticket.
The athletic department also announced its athletic admission policy in accordance with the Southwestern Conference.
Ticket prices for football are general admission (at the gate) $6 per ticket, reserved seat $7, student presale $3 and senior citizen $3.
All other Westlake sporting event ticket prices are adult $6, student $3 and senior citizen $3.
Freshman event ticket prices are adult $3, student $2 and senior citizen $2.
The school also has some discounts available. The Westlake City Senior Gold Card is available for seniors who reside in Westlake and  are 60 years of age or older.
The card entitles seniors to attend school-sponsored athletic events held within the city of Westlake free of charge. OHSAA sponsored events are exempt.

Additional discount ticket packages for Westlake High School and Lee Burneson Middle School are available through the Demons Club.
