The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Glen H. Buswell

Glen H. Buswell, 88, of LaGrange, died August 17, 2007 at Life Care Center of Medina. He was Born June 10,1919 in Wellington and was a lifelong resident of Wellington and LaGrange. He Graduated from Wellington High School in 1936 and also graduated from Elyria Business School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 87th Infantry, with General George C. Patton in Germany and Fought at the Battle of the Bulge.
He was employed at West Side Lumber and Concrete Co. in Elyria and retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation where he was superintendent of the Ashland Garage. Glen served for many years on the LaGrange Township Board of Trustees and was a member of LaGrange United Methodist Church. He was a 56 year member of LaGrange Lions Club, a 63 year member of LaGrange Lodge No. 399 F. & A.M., Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland, Elyria V.F.W. No.1079 and Elyria AmVets Post 32.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ruth Buswell (nee: Bowers); sons, Fred Buswell, LaGrange, Keith Buswell, Elyria; daughter, Kathleen Toth, Vermilion; step daughters, Chrissa Dellinger, Grafton, Jennifer McCoy, Elyria; thirteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wives, Eileen in 1967 and Helen in 1974; parents, Floyd and Alice Buswell; sister, Anna Doddridge; brother, Richard Buswell; and a step daughter, Kathleen Bricker.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday, 6 P.M. at LaGrange United Methodist Church, 105 West Main St., LaGrange. Rev. Ralph Krall will officiate. The family will also receive friends at a gathering following the service at 7 P.M.  in the church. Burial will be in the River Road Cemetery where Elyria V.F.W. No. 1079 will conduct military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 74924, Cleveland, OH 44194-4924 or LaGrange Lions Club Food Pantry, P.O. Box 63, LaGrange, OH 44050. Dicken Funeral Home, Elyria, was in charge of arrangements.
