Carole Joyce Tucker (nee Jackson), 73, and a resident of Berlin Heights, passed away Monday, August 27, 2007, at Fischer Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, following a short illness.
She was born August 19, 1934, in Amherst, but lived most of her life in Vermilion and Florence Township.
Carole was a member of Florence Congregational Church since 1993. She loved having her family over for big picnics in the summer so everyone could swim together in her pool. She also enjoyed bird watching, her flower gardens and traveling.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Ray Tucker; sons, Jon D. Kingsley of Sandusky, Jeffrey L. Kingsley of Florence Township, and Patrick R. Tucker of Elyria; daughters, Romona L. Benton of Collins, Jennifer A. Sroka and Renee S. Karason, both of Vermilion, and Shawna R. Rangel of Fitchville; stepson, Alan R. Tucker of Avon Lake; stepdaughter, Tammy K. Bender of Corpus Christi, Texas; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brothers, John D. Jackson of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Dennis N. Jackson of Oberlin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton Frederick and Ada Beatrice Jackson (nee Murray).
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870, in memory of Carole Joyce Tucker.
Final arrangements are being handled by Hempel Funeral Home in Amherst.
